Laptop problems about HP Pavilion DV9000 AC Adapter

My friend has a HP Pavilion DV9000 laptop computer. One day she asked me about the how to do with her broken HP Pavilion DV9000 AC Adapter. It is like that, the laptop ac adapter plug where it plugs into the computer (the little round male plug) has come loose from the wires. She had already taken to MicroCenter and asked if they could put a new plug on the ac adapter for her. They told her no and said It would need to buy a whole new laptop AC adapter which is too expensive for her. So she asked me if the little plug could be replaced without having to spend that much money for a new laptop ac adapter (HP Pavilion DV9000 AC Adapter).

Let’s say you find anyone to cut the wires and splice that from some donor Laptop accessories. Let’s say they get it wrong or you are unlucky and the HP Pavilion DV9000 AC Adapter fries. Given the litigations nature of many consumers they have to give you this advice. I bought a new HP AC Adapter at papatek.com a few months ago, the price is very good but the quality is much worth that price with less than $30!

How to Revive a Dead Dell LA65NS0-00 AC Adapter

The same freezer that holds your frozen pizzas and TV dinners can often bring seemingly-dead Dell LA65NS0-00 AC Adapter back to usable (though not quite like-new) condition.

Most laptop ac adapter use the same voltage. But the current they need is different. So if you order a new Dell AC Adapter you have to check the current rating of the old Dell LA65NS0-00 AC Adapter too. As the voltage and the current capability is important. Soldering some wires together is a bit dangerous. Take a uni-meter and check where the wires are connected to, as from the old Dell ac adapter and the new laptop ac adapter. Before connecting to your Dell LA65NS0-00 AC Adapter, check with a uni-meter the voltage and the polarity.

First put the dead Dell LA65NS0-00 AC Adapter in a sealed plastic bag. Then Put the bagged Dell AC Adapter in the freezer for about 12 hours. After that, Take the bag out of the freezer, and let the laptop ac adapter warm up to room temperature, drying the Dell LA65NS0-00 AC Adapter occasionally with a towel if it appears damp. Next is to put the Compaq ac adapter back into your Dell LA65NS0-00, and charge the laptop ac adapter as much as possible, and then leave the Dell LA65NS0-00 on in order to discharge it completely.

Your useless Dell LA65NS0-00 ac adapter would be much more useful than before after you do the above steps. Double-click one of the volume controls with this control you can selectively control Dell LA65NS0-00 AC Adapter- or mute – the volume of the beep that is generated when the laptop ac adapter is low.

How to Find the Best Laptop for Small Kids

Are you curios about the best laptop for your small kids? I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that your kids like to mimic pretty much everything you are doing. Whether you’re cooking in the kitchen or changing TV programs with the remote control or putting make-up on, kids will try out everything.
HP PA3468U-1ACA AC Adapter(Input: AC100-240V (worldwide use) Output: DC19V 3.95A 75W Outlet: 2-prong )

Obviously small kids won’t have access to expensive pc’s and gadgets, but there are plenty out there that fit the criteria that needs to be fulfilled in order to be fit for toddlers. When I grew up notebooks were non existent and computers were not available for regular folks. You could only find them in universities under strong supervision. Nowadays I’ve seen children as small as 6 years old playing various computer games, and by the time they are 10, they are expert programmers. I still shudder at my pathetic attempts at learning Pascal back in college.

Many times I had a laugh when I saw my daughter putting on her mom’s make-up and pretend she was a grown up. Or my son taking charge of the remote control to expertly cruise through the hundreds of programs we have. Or put in a new music DVD in the player all by himself. They look so sweet when they try to be grown-ups. The good thing is that by mimicking the tasks of the adult, they are learning lots in the process. So why not make the laptop a tool for learning as well as something they can truly enjoy?

By using a kid’s laptop when they are small, kids will have all the skills necessary to tackle a real one when they are big enough and will simply see the new, real computer as an upgrade of their previous one, that will be sure to excite them to no end. Learning with a laptop for small kids is one of the best and modern way to prepare your small kids for the real world out there.

So what types of laptops are best for your small kids? Well you might have a daughter who is in the very pink mood. Girls like pink quite for a few years so you can make use of that little bit of information. The Vtech Tote ‘n Go Pink Laptop are some that come to mind here. It has a strong color that attracts attention and she will love it and learn from it for quite a while.

Regardless whether she is left handed or right handed, she will be able to use it safely as the mouse is detachable. By using the laptop and mouse now, by the time she is ready for a real computer, she will have learned the basics of handling the equipment properly and will be very comfortable in using it. Some of the skills she can learn in the process are language and mathematics skills. Also she can learn music and various learning games that will help develop her mind faster.

Intel introduces Itanium 9300 supercomputer chip

Intel has announced a new microprocessor for supercomputers – the Itanium 9300 series. It packs a massive 2,000,000,000 transistors onto a single chip – more than twice the number found in the latest Core i7 chips from the company.

The chip has four cores, and up to eight microprocessors can be built into a single server system. That means that a supercomputer built with the Itanium chips can have up to 32 computing cores. Performance, according to HP’s SVP Martin Fink, is 2 to 9 times better than existing systems.

There are two more Itanium designs due within the next few years – with followups planned for every 2 years or so. The 9300 series has been delayed for some time, but Intel says that these chips will be attractive to its customers because they share characteristics with the x86 Xeon server chips.

So, if you’re thinking of building a supercomputer, the 9300 might be one to consider. If not, just sit there and try and get your head around the idea of 2 billion transistors sitting there on a little slab of silicon.

Dell Loses Appeal in Defective Laptops Lawsuit

A class-action lawsuit in which Dell was accused of shipping defective laptops will go back to trial after a ruling was reversed by a federal appeals court on Friday.

The suit alleges that Dell manufactured and sold defective laptops between July 2004 and January 2005. The judge in the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco reversed an earlier ruling of the case’s dismissal by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

The plaintiffs alleged that there were three “inherent defects” in the PCs Dell shipped, including premature power supply failure, motherboard failure and the inability of cooling systems to dissipate heat. The defects were found in Dell’s Inspiron 5160 and Inspiron 1150 laptops. The plaintiffs, Michael Omstead, Melissa Malloy and Lisa Smith, claimed damages and lawyers’ fees from Dell.

The district court originally dismissed the case and ordered the parties to arbitration. However, the plaintiffs appealed the dismissal, which has now been reversed.

The case will be sent back to the district court.

A Dell spokesman said the company does not comment on pending litigation.

Reviewed on Dell Latitude Z600

The Dell Latitude Z600 is a laptop that is–to coin a phrase–suited up. At just 0.6 inches thick, it’s the thinnest 16-inch notebook ever, making it a tempting choice for well-heeled execs (or at least those still receiving bonuses). Its red velvety exterior and chrome accents–to say nothing of the wireless induction charging stand and touch controls on the bezel–certainly scream luxury.

At 5.0 pounds with the extended battery and 4.6 pounds with the regular battery, the Z600 isn’t as light as an ultra portable, but neither is it uncomfortable to carry around. However, its large footprint makes it difficult to fit in smaller messenger bags.

Too bad there’s no latch securing the lid to the deck; holding the notebook upright by the hinge causes the lid to open slightly. The extended battery also wobbled when we held the notebook toward the hinge. We expect a more thoughtful design from something this expensive.

This same soft touch finish covers the keyboard deck, and is bordered by brushed metal. Above the black island-style keyboard are hepatic volume controls that light up and buzz gently when pressed. To the right of the keyboard is a fingerprint reader, and to the right of the touchpad is a Smart Card reader.

But the more we used this desktop replacement with ultra portable guts, the more we questioned its value. As we note in our full review, this $3,806 system’s performance and endurance don’t match the high price. It’s $3,106 without the charging stand and wireless dock.

Perhaps the most innovative thing about the Z600 is its ARM 600 MHz TI 3430 OMAP processor (and 512MB of RAM), which is only activated when using the Latitude on operating system. While the OS is rather rudimentary compared to ASUS’ Express Gate–there’s no Skype, music, or movie app, for example–the low power consumption of the ARM processor allowed the Z600 to last for 11 hours and 35 minutes.

A few tips to boost your Acer Aspire AS4720Z AC Adapter life

Falling just short of carrying an extra pack of Acer Aspire AS4720Z AC Adapter in the back-pack, are several ways to keep the juice flowing through the laptop ac adapters.

1. Ship shape with a defrag

Regular defragmentation helps to arrange data more efficiently thus making the hard drive work less to access the data. The quicker the moving hard drive works lesser is the load placed on the Acer Aspire AS4720Z AC Adapter. Thus, your laptop ac adapter can last longer. The effect is minimal, but this efficiency goes hand in glove with hard drive maintenance.

2. Kill the resource gobblers

End the background processes that are not vital. Monitor the resource usage through a ‘Ctrl-Alt-Del’ which brings up the Windows Task Manager (in Windows). If you’re not on the internet, it is safe to shut down the immediate non-essential programs running in the taskbar like the Acer AC Adapter. Weed out unnecessary programs running as start-ups by launching the System Configuration Utility from Run – Msconfig – Tab: Startup. Uncheck the programs which you don’t want to launch and reboot the Aspire AS4720Z AC Adapter once.

3. Pause the scheduled tasks

It may be a defrag or a virus scan, but make sure it is scheduled for a time when you are near a laptop ac adapter. If not then nix them for the moment.

4. Unplug external devices

USB devices are the biggest drainers of Acer AC Adapter. Unplug all external devices like an external mouse, PC cards, Wi-Fi, external speakers, Bluetooth and even an attached iPod.

5. Empty the CD/DVD Drives

Even if you don’t intend to use it, don’t leave any CD/DVDs as leftovers in the drives. A spinning drive sucks Aspire AS4720Z AC Adapter like a sponge.

6. Go local

Desist using the DVD/external drives while running on Acer AC Adapter. Shift the content to the hard drive or run using (free) virtual drives like Pismo File Mount or even Acer Aspire AS4720Z AC Adapter.

7. Lower the lights

The LCD screen of a notebook is another laptop ac adapter power sink. Calibrate the brightness to the lowest level you can tolerate using the Function key toggles Acer AC Adapter or using the Display Settings applet in the Control Panel.

8. Kill the sounds

Mute the speakers and try avoiding the use of multimedia software to maximize the Acer Aspire AS4720Z AC Adapter life. Installed sound schemes also drain an Acer Aspire AS4720Z AC Adapter perceptibly.

9. Rid the screensaver

To maximize the Acer ac adapter’s life by a little, switch off the screensaver.

10. Visit Power Options

Get familiar with power management through the ‘Power Options’ applet in the Control Panel. Both XP and Vista come with advanced power management features which shut off components like the monitor and/or the hard drive after specified intervals. This again depends on the chosen ‘Power Schemes’ (for XP) in the same applet. For instance in XP, ‘Max Battery’ under Power Schemes can be selected for maximum battery optimization.Similar settings can be found under ‘Mobile PC’ in the Control Panel of Vista.
